BioCheck Sampling Valve

Note: Our BioCheck Sales Matrix helps you to find the right BioCheck for your needs.

By means of the BioCheck sampling valve, samples can be taken easily and safely out of closed systems like vessels and pipings. When designing this sterile fitting, special emphasis was placed on the aseptic, but also very compact design, so that the integration can be carried out easily and especially free from contamination in both sterile and in CIP/SIP cycles.

BioCheck sampling valves are certified to

The RIEGER BioCheck Combi valve is an aseptic sampling valve, which is connected to a CIP/SIP valve without any dead space.

The combination valve has the same advantages as the standard BioCheck valve:
  • solid stainless steel housing
  • complete separation from the environment
  • no dead , no sump , no dome, 100 % emptying
  • overhead installation possible
  • seal replacement without special tools
  • low downtime
  • long life ( > 1 million cycles , more on request)
  • contact with product 316L stainless steel, alternatively in Hastelloy C22 (2.4602) and other materials
 Additional benefits:
  • extremely compact
  • steam or flushing valve direct on the main body
  • no back flow of product into steam line

The RIEGER-BioCheck-Compact is an aseptic sampling valve of the newest generation.

The compact valve has the same advantages as the standard BioCheck valve:
  • solid stainless steel housing
  • complete separation from the environment
  • no dead space, no sump, no dome
  • seal replacement without special tools
  • low downtime
  • stainless steel in contact with product 316L, alternatively in Hastelloy C22 (2.4602) and other materials
 Additional benefits:
  • PTFE bellow technology for more than 3 million cycles
  • 1 or 2 outlets possible
  • pneumatic and/or manual actuators
  • lockable hand wheel with key for more safety in your process or outside tank farm
  • flexible integration in your process with a wide range of process connections like pipe or tank welding or TC according DIN 32676 or DIN 11864 also for AWH Connect or NA Connect™
  • extra light and slim design
  • also available in 3-A version and EHEDG EL Class I certified
  • accessories such as connections, electronic feedback, hoses and many more available

Sampling into bottle
• contact with product 316L
• for all common lab bottles
• with connecting thread GL45 ISO for 100 to 2000 ml bottle
• no air contamination thanks to sterile filter
• absolutely aseptic system

THE PERFECT SAMPLE INTO THE BOTTLE
1. Product flows through piping. The BioCheck sampling valve (3) and the CIP/SIP valve (1) are closed. .

2. After having sterilized the bottle in an autoclave (with sterile air filter mounted), connect bottle to the outlet of sampling system (middle port). Both valves of the bottle (valve (5) and valve (6)) are closed.

3. Open the CIP/SIP valve (1) and the passage valve (5) for cleaning. The steam cleans the complete system, but not the bottle which was cleaned in the autoclave (see point 2.).

4. Close the CIP/SIP valve (1) and drain though the passage valve (5) and then close it afterwards.

5.Open the BioCheck sampling valve (3) and the valve for sampling into bottle (6). --> Product flows into bottle.

6. First, close the BioCheck sampling valve (3).

7. After draining the outlet into sampling pipe (4) close the valve to sampling into bottle (6). The whole system is closed.

8. Remove bottle with valve head (7) from pipe --> grap the whole unit (=bottle connected to valve head) and bring it to the lab.

A real alternative to membrane filling valves

The BioCheck inclined seat valve from the series of Rieger BioCheck valves ideally suits as filling valve. Why?
  • Completely emptying housing without dead zones
  • one-piece seal
  • fast switching cycles of < 200 ms for opening and closing (in DN 20 or smaller)
  • lifespan of several million switching cycles
Filling valve is not equal to filling valve.
